Grand Lake Colorado is the reason I live in Colorado today. This town holds some sort of magical hold over me. Maybe it is memories of the silly summer I spent there when I was 19. Maybe it is because Grand Lake made me fall in love with outside. Any which way you slice it – Grand Lake weddings make me want to try harder. And for the amazing people who I was fortunate enough to work with this summer – your weddings meant the world to me.
Annie and Brad’s wedding was hands down one of my top 3 for the summer. The bride and groom are sweet, funny, kind and pretty darn wonderful. Their families warmed my heart – every time I spoke to Annie’s Mom – I picked up the phone and called my own. When we first began to plan the wedding, the first person I thought of for photography was Katie Thurmes of Jenna Walker Photography. Besides being crazy talented – Grand Lake holds a similar place in Katie’s heart as it does to mine (and the bride and grooms). Ceremony at the AA Barn. Reception at the Yacht Club. Delicious catering by Wildhorse Catering. Music by Tunisia. Hair and Makeup by Christina Trostle of the Parlour. Flower Decor Planning and Coordination by me. Seriously, it’s time to let these perfect photos tell the rest of the story.
My hope for anyone getting married is to have friends and families that rally around you like Annie and Brad do.
I have to be perfectly honest. AA Barn is stunning. It is gorgeous. It is rustic (and clearly lacks shade) But on August 13 as the largest MOOSE that I have ever seen was trolling around the ceremony site (seriously, he walked 40 feet behind the bridesmaids and watched the ceremony). Yes, there is now a Standard Operating Procedure of moose and wedding parties. Just in case you were wondering . . .
Annie and Brad – thank you again for trusting me with the details of your day. And I cant wait for many many more Telluride Bluegrass Festivals where we can all boogie down . . .
