I loved this winter wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Rachel and Holt came to be about a year before the wedding and we immediately hit it off. Rachel (an amazing photographer herself) had found the amazing Mallory Munsen and had a great design idea. We planned, I connected her with some great vendors (Elite DJ, Beauty on Location) and we were set. Jump ahead 6 months, we changed the design entirely. We were so lucky to team up with House of Yonder, Charming Chairs and LaTavola to completely recreate and transform the High Lonesome Lodge at the Ranch.
I LOVED adding the modern industrial elements to the space. I also loved using ALL OF THE SMILAX in the world to provide depth and intimacy against the GORGEOUS (but huge) windows. Late afternoon winter light combined with snow glare (trust me, it’s a thing) can make this backdrop challenging. Adding the greens to the window gave scale (without blocking the amazing view of the divide). Add a hanging floral installation (yep, it’s been my thing lately) created an altar area and would later serve as a gorgeous arbor for the sweetheart table. Add some velvet tablecloths, copper flatware and agate name cards and I was one happy girl.
Can I tell you the best part of this whole thing? It was Rachel and Holt. They are simply so perfectly and completely in love that nothing else mattered. This was a day with more happy tears than anyone could ever count. It was one of the best.
