Amanda and Andy’s Devil’s Thumb Ranch was a highlight from last summer (for the record, I have absolutely NO IDEA how I managed to not post this wedding earlier!) You probably recognize Amanda from her time on Denver 7 News (personally I think she is the bees knees in terms of investigative reporting). Amanda and Andy fell in love while they were living at the Acoma here in Denver (we ended up using that gorgeous iconic A as a detail in all of their print work). Andy’s residency took them to the East Coast but they tied the knot here in Colorado. We built a gorgeous neutral design around lush silver dollar eucalyptus and candles, made the wise choice to hire Chowen Photography to capture the day and left the rest up to the Ranch and I. I added some large crystal chandeliers and ivory draping to the Broad Axe Barn and we accented the room with warm uplights from our friends at Elite DJ.
On a personal note – this wedding also holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the last times I did the florals as well as coordination. Yes, that story does include a quick trip to the ER to get stitches after toasts were complete (the lesson learned is ALWAYS work with amazing vendors so you CAN go to the ER if needed. Like when you jam your wrist into your clippers during set up – whoopsie. Yes that happened. I handed the binder to Chris (aka Spud from Elite) so he and our amazing photographers held down the fort for me :).
