Any help with the toast? Any suggestions for toasts? What should I say during my toast?

These are some of the most common questions that I hear from friends and family member in the days leading up to the wedding. Well meaning friends and loved ones – suddenly overcome with fear at the thought of public speaking. I recently came across a great article on Cooking Light’s website – click HERE to read the article in full. But to summarize
- Practice, practice, practice. In front of the mirror and try your toast out in front of a few people whose opinion you trust
- Be personal – but not too personal. Remember your audience.
- TOAST not ROAST. This is not a time to humiliate your best friend. That is what the bachelor and bachelorette weekends are for!
- Be honest – honesty is usually the funniest thing.
- Include your audience and make it fun for everyone. Inside jokes are only funny to those inside.
- Have fun and speak from your heart
