I love New York and I love actors SO when my phone rang a few months ago from Annie and Joey – looking for some help to plan a mountain wedding – I had a feeling that we were going to get along just fine. Every meeting and phone call (in the midst of a pretty amazing work season for these two) has made me giggle. This day was so stunning, so perfectly kind and sweet and so lovely outside, you may have to pinch yourself as you watch this. This really happened. And it really was this much fun! Anne + Andy’s wedding at C Lazy Ranch was absolutely one of my favorite winter weddings. The gorgeous ceremony was in one of the pastures at the Ranch. The guests and the bridal party all arrived by sleigh (and be sure to check out my Instagram feed to see how Rachel and I got there to set up!). Jamee Photography’s photos are stunning. The food (C Lazy U) and the cake (Intricate Icing) were divine and the guests boogied down all night thanks to the music from Chris of Tip Top DJ. Yep, this was one of my favorites indeed.
Anne + Andy – thank you for trusting us with the details of your day. You two will go down in history has one of the best couples ever. I wish you both lots of love and happiness and years and years of hockey games and long NHL seasons

Anne and Andy are more fun than most people. Tell me how many brides will not only have a GREAT design style but will also host AND PLAY in a pickup pond hockey game the day before their wedding? Not many. Not many at all. And that is just one of the reasons that we adored working with this fantastic couple on their March winter wedding at C Lazy U Ranch. As you all know, I am pretty much smitten with my clients. If I had to create a profile of the Love This Day Event Bride, you are fun, creative, kind soul and you want your wedding to be a reflection of that. For my full planning clients, we begin by creating a priority list – this is before we create the budget or even consider a venue. As the planning moves forward, we will revisit this list often (because quite frankly, the budget normally trumps the wants versus needs column). I am delighted to be working with Allie and Owen to create an incredible wedding weekend in 2014. And I want to share their list because it is kind and sweet and funny – just like them. AND – if we can manage to get Mumford and Sons involved – game on.
Create your list and remember what is important to you. That matters more than blogs, magazines and what your next store neighbor says. Hold true to your values and your wedding will be exactly what you want.

Colorado Mountain Wedding Planner
I am witness to so many different couples over the course of a year. Couples that are nervous, excited, madly in love, etc. But Claire and Bob win the buckle for renewing my faith in love and family with their December wedding at Devils Thumb Ranch. These two are so perfectly and madly in love. And I am now in love with both of their incredible families. Thank you for allowing me to assist with one of my favorite wedding days of all time. And thank you to the lovely Sarah Hays for sharing her images of the day.
I love green. I love gold. And I kind of have a thing for little people. For the record, I felt this way long before we knew who Chelsea Handler was. Needless to say, I love St Patrick’s Day. Just blame to many years spent in Chicago . . .

St Patrick’s Day weddings have a great built in color scheme that works so well when the Colorado Mountains are covered in snow. Bright green hydrangeas, maidenhair fern and Bells of Ireland are all great (and affordable) readily available lush greens. Accents of gold (like the bunting featured above, sparkly linens or gold chargers) are a gorgeous way to add a little sparkle to a rustic ranch affair.
And green signature drinks are fun! But please drink responsibly . . .and remember that the photos live forever
