This is how you start a Colorado wedding weekend at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Welcome your guests to 8,500 feet above sea level with a sledding party, a biathlon, a broom ball tournament and a boozy hot chocolate bar. Then invite the guests into the cozy Ranch House restuarant for a chili party and congratulations, you have set the tone for the best wedding weekend ever.
The next day was one of the prettiest weddings I have ever been a part of. A classic palette of navy, grays and whites was made to feel cozy by including textures like wool plaids and rich velvets. The Perfect Petal knocked this floral design out of the park – just LOOK AT THE WREATH. K’s Mom described the vision she wanted as “Paul Revere goes on holiday in Scotland” – classic pewters became our go to vessel and we used all whites for a timeless floral design. Bisou Beauty made everyone even more gorgeous (as if that was possible) and Carolina Herrera must have been dreaming of K and this day when she designed this dress.
The cake was perfect (and so so so delicious) Thank you Megan Joy. I may still be dreaming of it. Tunisia kept the dance floor packed all night long and the entire weekend was captured perfectly by the incomparable Steve Stanton.
K+S – you two raised the bar. Cheers (and happy anniversary) to you two!
