Wanderlust Wedding Wednesday – Amangiri

In RECENT WEDDINGS by LoveThisDayEvents

Up until 2006, I was a strictly a cottage and bungalow kind of girl.  Growing up in the South, especially in a historic seaside city, you get very fond of the single level houses, with big porches, built in bookcases, and sweet little crannies where functional things like ironing boards hide.  Then in 2006, I started dating an architect, and everything changed!  Today, we pay tribute to my modern side with a visit to one of the most architecturally sexy resorts in the USA.

Nestled in the buttes, canyons and mesas of southwest Utah, Amangiri sets on 600 private acres and offers both luxury and seclusion for their guests.  Amangiri is the newest US addition from the ultra-lux resort company, Aman Resorts.  Aman Resorts have little pieces of paradise dotted all over the world in fabulous places such as Vietnam, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Greece, and Morocco (to name a few).  Keeping consistent with the Aman way, Amangiri is exclusivity at it’s finest.

Here is my favorite aspect of this amazing place….it is all centered around a massive pool with a huge natural rock formation jutting into it.  (I would totally swim all day long!)

Hey, brides out there, can you imagine a better place for your cocktail hour??  Not to mention how nice it will be to sip mimosas while lounging in a huge bed by this pool?!!  I mean, seriously, they did it right!!  Basically every common area at the resort opens up to this pool, and I cannot blame them, the view is worth a million dollars!  (It’s no surprise that this is the #1 getaway for Branjelina Pitt Jolie)

Here is what you need to know if you happen to be a happenin’ bride that loves stunning architecture, jaw-dropping nature, and luxury experiences:

-Wedding parties can only be up to 75 guests (the more intimate, the better in my humble opinion)

-If you are having a larger ceremony (over 20 guests), then the Desert Lounge is probably going to be your best bet (described by the resort as an “open-air living room”…yes!).  And it just happens to be the best place to watch the sunset over the majestic mesas.  Check out the benches that the guests get to lounge in!  Ahhhh!

-For a smaller affair, consider The Reflection Pool.  Could you imagine meeting the man of your dreams at the end of this aisle??!  (We would not allow you to wear heels!)

-Depending on your preference and group size, your reception could be located in the dining area, campfire pavilion, pool terrace, or a private dining room.

And if you want to invite the Love This Day crew along we would bring in crazy cool succulents, cactus, air plants, and tons of candle light.  Like this::
