I love a good winter wedding. I really really love a couple who does what they want. Why not get married in Vail at the lovely Donovan Pavilion in December when it was 4 degrees outside? If that is what you want – DO IT!!! And the reason WHY I love that – just look at these gorgeous pictures from Brinton Studios. What more could you ask for? A beautiful day with with friends and family, the love of your life and a pretty design. That is all it takes for a wedding to be awesome in my book!
The challenge was to design wedding flowers that could withstand the cold. Solution – balsa wood roses, cedar wood flowers, cotton, dried lotus pods, sola wood blooms, silver brunia berries and dusty miller. Problem solved :).
As the sun set during the ceremony, I have never been so happy to have lighting to work with. We set a few lights behind Kerri and Spencer to combat the flat light that we get in the high country at the end of the day. The result was AWESOME. Fair warning to the rest of you winter brides, you are getting lighting. End of story.
