After 7 years of wedding planning in Colorado, I know a few things to be true. Number #1 – never plan on the weather and #2 – your wedding should be a reflection of you and your soul mate. Simple as that. Who cares what tradition says? Who cares what you “should” do? I really do believe that your wedding should be what YOU two want it to be and you two get to decide on your own wedding traditions. And with that, I am delighted to share one of my favorite Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding days with one of the best couples ever. Rule breaking wedding rule #1 – be yourself and be comfortable. Ryan called me months before the wedding asking what he should wear. My response – what do you want to wear? What makes you comfortable? I don’t think that was the answer he was expecting. WHY NOT wear jeans and a vest while she rocks a gorgeous lace gown? (Although I did steal his baseball hat and sunglasses for a few hours) I did give it back eventually . . .
